Description

B2B Power Exchange is a lead exchange group that focuses on helping entrepreneurs, CEOs, consultants and business development pros that sell to senior decision makers at companies with $10 million or more in annual revenues. Our members focus on large, complex business-to-business sales, so most lead groups and Chamber mixers don't provide them with the resources they need. We're different. Our forum of power players knows that the fastest way to the executive suite is through partnerships with others focused on B2B. That's why we leverage our combined skills and executive contacts to expand our pipelines and increase the value we offer our corporate clients.

Time 11:30AM to 1:30PM
City Santa Clara
Event Type Speaker / Panel / Round Table
Event Area Marketing
Hosted By Business Marketing Association
Description Industry Journalism in the Internet Age--Can It Survive?

Panel:

- Debra Vogler, Senior Editor, Solid State Technology Magazine
- Peggy Aycinena, Editor in Chief, EDA Confidential and EDA Weekly
- Ronald Wilson, Executive Editor, EDN Magazine

Moderator: Barbara Kalkis, Maestro Marketing & PR

News sources abound on the internet. The result is that the face
of industry journalism has changed and so has its content. You
can purchase commercial and technology memberships to get
headlines emailed to your desk, tap into a plethora of blogs,
personal websites and wikis, visit company websites, register for
RSS, or simply do things the good old-fashioned way and subscribe
to your favorite trade magazines.

Change isn't just about content, however. The definition of a
journalist has also changed. Industry pundits and participants
are running their own blogs and sites, with or without
advertising, and doing quite well for one-person operations.
Companies are running their own trade shows and conferences and
publishing news with links to their partners. Some companies even
use former journalists to run their online news programs. What's
a journalist to do?

This panel of trade journalists will share their view of their
industry and profession and what the future holds for industry
journalism.

Panel Biographies:

Debra Vogler, Senior Editor, Solid State Technology Magazine

Debra Vogler has been a Senior Technical Editor at Solid State
Technology magazine since 2001. In parallel with a 20-year career
in reliability engineering, she amassed experience in video
production and founded media production company, Instant Insight
Inc., in 1998. Debra received BS and MS degrees in physics from
Marquette University.

Peggy Aycinena, Editor in Chief, EDA Confidential and EDA Weekly

Peggy Aycinena is Editor of EDA Confidential and Contributing
Editor to EDA Weekly, both on-line. Previously, she was Editor of
ISD Magazine and Managing Editor of Visual Studio Magazine, both
print publications. Hence, she is very interested in the
interface between print and electronic journalism. Peggy has
degrees in Biophysics and Electrical Engineering.

Ronald Wilson, Executive Editor, EDN Magazine

Ron Wilson, EDN's executive editor, boasts a checkered career
reaching back to the dawn of medium-scale integration, whatever
that was. Later an exile from engineering, Ron wandered through
the realms of training and marketing before landing happily in
the editorial world, first with Computer Design Magazine, then
with CMP Media, where he wrote for EE Times.

Maestro Marketing & PR

As principal of Maestro Marketing & PR, Barbara works with
companies and government organizations to build their image and
influence in global high-tech centers. Her other loves are
teaching and writing about marketing, with views appearing in
October issues of USA Today and Direct Marketing News. Barbara is
