The MBA Entrepreneurs' Connection is proud to host the Venture
Capital Investment Competition.

http://www.scunetworks-mbaec.org

VCIC is NOT a business plan competition! It is an entirely unique
event that emulates the life of a VC. The "VCIC Experience"
includes a wide variety of challenges in a WIN-WIN-WIN
convergence of three elite groups: top MBA students, visionary
entrepreneurs and successful VCs, each of whom has much to learn
from the others.

Top MBA Students WIN

VCIC is designed first and foremost for the student experience,
and the system has proven to be tremendously successful, based on
the response at all top MBA programs. 74% of students claim that
VCIC was the best educational experience of their MBA careers.
Each student team is playing the role of a venture capital firm
that must go through the entire VC investment process in an
extremely condensed time period. Each team will:

Read real business plans from entrepreneurs currently seeking VC
funding

Watch entrepreneurs "road-show" pitches

Sit down one-on-one with each entrepreneur

Choose a deal (or multiple deals)

Create executive summary, term sheet summaries and PowerPoint
presentation

Present to and field questions from a panel of VCs

Sit down one-on-one with VCs for feedback

Visionary Entrepreneurs WIN

Entrepreneurs are the life-blood of VCIC; they share their
visions and dreams with the students. They also challenge
students to identify the critical risks and milestones necessary
to succeed in their vision. Years of painstaking effort are
condensed into a written plan and a 10-minute pitch to be quickly
digested by teams. In the matter of a few hours, entrepreneurs:

Submit their written business plans for review by top MBA students

Practice their road shows in front of a large, highly educated
audience

Conduct "mock-interviews" with each team, gaining valuable
insights as to what is missing in their plan and their pitch

Receive copies of all team deliverables, including term sheets

Successful Venture Capitalists WIN

While students and entrepreneurs are participating in this
simulated human drama, a panel of VCs is observing from the
periphery. After the entrepreneurs depart, the tables are turned,
and it is the students who must start pitching. They must
convince their "partners", the judges, that their investment
decisions are sound, and more importantly, that they will provide
a reasonable return for the risk taken. In a session that can
feel like a lifetime to students, VCs pepper them with questions,
digging deep into the team's decisions and cutting to the point
in their reputed no-nonsense style. Finally, judges must choose a
winner, the team they would most like to have as their VC
partner, based on their evaluation of the teams' assessment of
risk, knowledge of the VC process, communication skills and teamwork.

WIN-WIN-WIN

As you can see, all the players have skin in the game, and the
dogs are eating the dog food! (If you don't know what that means,
you haven't been to VCIC!) The convergence of these influential
participants through this successful program produces a unique
and powerful event, the VCIC Experience. http://www.vcic.org

Levensohn Venture Partners

Todays venture capital environment demands experienced,
thoughtful and insightful venture investors who continuously
offer their portfolio companies the
crucial guidance needed to achieve success. At Levensohn
Venture Partners, we are committed to investing both time and
money in developing companies.

We invest in leading information technology companies that have
completed technology development and are now generating
revenues. These companies still face
management, sales, strategic and financial challenges as they
scale up their businesses. When we invest, we take a board seat
and play an active role in promoting the growth of the company.

Since our founding in 1996, we have made 27 private equity
investments. Throughout this period we have focused on
investing in information technology companies in the early
stages of commercialization. These investments include Atheros,
BigFix, Broadlogic, Informative, KnowNow, Radiance, Rapt,
Reconnex, Ubicom, Veraz Networks, Vertical Networks, among
others.

We currently manage $164 million in two venture capital funds
focused on information technology companies in sectors such as
enterprise software, communications equipment and
semiconductors. We invest alongside an outstanding group of co-
investors early-stage venture capitalists with whom we have
developed long-standing and trusted relationships.

Levensohn Venture Partners invests across information
technology areas, including software, communications and
semiconductors. Over the next few years, we see opportunities
across a wide range of themes. Many emerging companies have
finally addressed long-standing business problems with
innovative, next generation technologies. These technologies
can and will displace legacy incumbents and/or create new
market opportunities.

LVP remains focused on discovering the most promising
technologies and management teams for our investment portfolio.

Pascal Levensohn
Pascal Levensohn has been a venture capitalist since 1996, when
he founded Levensohn Venture Partners (LVP) in San
Francisco . He focuses on investing in early stage software,
