Description

B2B Power Exchange is a lead exchange group that focuses on helping entrepreneurs, CEOs, consultants and business development pros that sell to senior decision makers at companies with $10 million or more in annual revenues. Our members focus on large, complex business-to-business sales, so most lead groups and Chamber mixers don't provide them with the resources they need. We're different. Our forum of power players knows that the fastest way to the executive suite is through partnerships with others focused on B2B. That's why we leverage our combined skills and executive contacts to expand our pipelines and increase the value we offer our corporate clients.

This Month's Event: Succeeding in a Man's World
There is no contesting that men are the predominant leaders in
the high-tech, life science and clean-energy industries. They
serve at most of the C-Level and other senior executive
positions, and also at the board level. Although women leaders
have made some progress in breaking the barriers into the
executive suites and beyond, it's clear that the women who have
succeeded in breaking into this male-dominated world have
learned to 'play the game' while leveraging their strengths.

This month's When She Speaks event convenes a panel of these
women forging change: women who have advanced to the executive
ranks by rules established by today's male-dominated leadership
teams. Our speakers will share their inspiring stories, tell us
how they are supporting fellow women leaders, provide words of
advice and encouragement for all of us, and challenge us to
rise to our potential within the constraints of our environment.

Facilitator Patti Wilson, CareerCompany,
http://www.careercompany.com, has been a career and executive
coach working with senior executives for more than 20 years.
Patti will frame the discussion while sharing the perspectives
of the many executives she has counseled through the career
transition and career advancement process.
Panelist Linda Fosler, Linda Prowse Fosler & Associates, has
served in executive management roles in HR, marketing,
technology and business development at HP and other large and
small high-tech organizations across the valley. Linda will
share the challenges and trade-offs she made to build and grow
influence and achieve sustainable results worthy of respect.
Panelist Francine Gordon is President of FGordon Group and
President of ATW for 2007. Francine will share her research on
women leaders and managers, her perspective on the differences
between these leadership styles and her advice on how women can
leverage these differences as positive differentiators.
Panelist Mona Hudak Senior Diversity and Inclusion Program
Manager from Cisco Systems will share her perspectives in
pursuing an engineering career, and her challenges in changing
the culture of her organization to be more receptive and
welcome to female engineers in general.
Panelist Praveena Varadarajan is currently director of
engineering at Sun Microsystems. Praveena bravely choose a male-
dominated profession, and has successfully not only mastered
the knowledge, but is continuing to succeed while embracing
empowerment and collaboration in an engineering-oriented
culture.

Patti will facilitate the discussion which will cover each
panelists' personal stories as well as words of wisdom, advice,
and best practices around succeeding in male-dominated
industries.
